These works originated from a class during my exchange at Tama art university. The 15 pieces above were made specifically for the assignment given, for which the theme was organic matter. This was and is still a theme I am interested in. Most of these specimens were improvised with some having a reference to a sketch I made. They are a great example of my visual language take over the creations and following intuition over detailed research. 

For the 15 pieces above, I had to figure out how to frame them without them losing their materiality. I was looking for a way to maintain the feeling of wanting to touch them, maybe even accentuate it. I have pinned the pieces onto foam, a minimal invasive measure on the delicate fabrics. The touch element remains whilst also framing the work. The specimens turn into objects, functional and presentable.
